Transition to the New Cool Rewards Membership Program

The following FAQ are prepared for original Cool Rewards and Kid’s Club Members who joined the Membership Program before the launch of the new program in July 2018.

When is the launch of the new Membership program and when will the old scheme end?

A new mobile app based Cool Rewards Membership Program will be launched officially on 9 July 2018.

All original Members (who joined before July 2018) will be transferred to the new Cool Rewards Membership Program which will incorporate loyalty reward schemes for both adults and children. Kids’ Club Members between the age of 4 and 12 will be converted to be Cool Rewards Junior Members.

The old Cool Rewards and Kids’ Club Programs will cease after 24 June 2018. From 25 June to 8 July2018, the Cool Rewards Membership Program will be temporarily suspended before the new program takes effect on/from 9 July 2018.

I am an original Cool Rewards Member so how do I convert to the new program?

 

 

Conversion to the new Cool Rewards Program is simple.

Just download the free Swensen’s mobile app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store anytime now. Please allow the mobile app to be updated to its new version which contains the upgraded Cool Rewards Membership features on the launch date of 9 July 2018.

Original Cool Rewards Members can access their membership account and new eMembership card using the membership login page within the mobile app on/after 9 July 2018 following the below steps.

For original Cool Rewards Members who have their email addresses registered with us, they will receive an email asking them to set up their login password. They can use the same email address as login ID and access their membership account using the newly set password. Alternatively, Members can click “forget password” on the login page of the mobile app and key in their registered email address to get a reset password link emailed to them. They can then follow the instructions in the email to complete password set up and access their membership account and eMembership card on the mobile app.

For Members who do not have their email addresses registered with us, they can use the “Claim Existing Account” function in the SIGN IN page of the Swensen’s mobile app. They can create their login ID on the mobile app by keying in their NRIC number and date of birth that have been registered with us for verification. Once these have been verified, the Member can key in their email address and a link will be sent via email for password setting. This “create login ID” function will be available on/from 9 July 2018 till 31 Dec 2018 for original Members. Original Members can only create login ID once with a unique and valid email address. This email address (not NRIC) will be the login ID for the Member to access his/her Membership Account using the Swensen’s mobile app. NRIC number registered with us before the transition will no longer be available for identification purpose to better protect Member’s personal data.

After logging into your membership account, you will be able to access your eMembership Card and eVouchers for product redemptions.  Please update your membership profile where necessary.

My child is a Kids’ Club Member so how do I help my child access the new Cool Rewards Junior Membership Account?

For original Kids’ Club Members between 4 – 12 years of age to convert their membership to the new Cool Rewards Junior Membership Program, you will need to download the free Swensen’s mobile app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store and allow the app to be updated on/from 9 July 2018. Original Cool Rewards Junior Members can access their membership account and new eMembership card using the membership login page within the mobile app following the following steps.

For original Cool Rewards Junior Members who have their email addresses registered with us, they will receive an email asking them to set up their login password. Once these have been verified, the Member can key in their email address and a link will be sent via email for password setting. This “create login ID” function will be available on/from 9 July 2018 till 31 December 2018 for original Members. Original Members can only create login ID once with a unique and valid email address. This email address (not NRIC) will be the login ID for the Member to access his/her Membership Account using the Swensen’s mobile app. NRIC number registered with us before the transition will no longer be available to better protect Member’s personal data.

After logging into the membership account, a Junior Member will be able to access the eMembership Card. Please update the membership profile where necessary.

My child does not have a mobile phone so how do I manage my child’s Junior Membership Account?

Up to 2 parents can link their Cool Rewards Membership Accounts to a child’s Junior Membership Account. Use the “Manage Accounts” function on the Swensen’s mobile app after logging into your membership account to link a Cool Rewards Junior Membership Account to a parent’s account.

After the initial one-time linking set up, either parent will be able to manage the kids’ Junior Membership accounts by logging into their own Cool Rewards Membership accounts on Swensen’s mobile app. Parents will be able to access all their children’s eMembership Cards and eVouchers by just logging into their own individual Membership Account after linking set up.

What happens to balance Cool Rewards Bonus Points from the original Cool Rewards membership scheme?

Redemption for 1,000 Bonus Points must be made on/before 14 June 2018 but instant redemption of 200 Bonus Points will be available till 24 June 2018.

If you have any balance Cool Rewards Bonus Points not redeemed by 24 June 2018, these Bonus Points will be converted to Rebate$ which will be credited into your account in the new Cool Rewards Membership Program.

For original Members with less than 1,000 Cool Rewards Bonus Points as of end 24 June 2018, their balance Bonus Points will be converted to Rebate$ in the new Membership program based on a conversion rate of 5%, rounded up to the nearest 10 cents. For example, a Member with balance 555 Bonus Points under the original membership scheme will get $27.80 of Rebate$ in the new Cool Rewards Program.

For original Members with more than 1,000 Cool Rewards Bonus Points as of end 24 June 2018, their balance Bonus Points will be converted to Rebate$ based on a conversion rate of 10%, rounded up to the nearest 10 cents. Every 1,000 Bonus Points will also entitle the original Member to a complimentary 1Kg Classic Ice Cream Cake eVoucher in the Member’s new account. For example, a Member with balance 1,789 Bonus Points under the original membership scheme will get $178 of Rebate$ and 1 x complimentary 1Kg Classic Ice Cream Cake eVoucher in the new Cool Rewards account immediately after the conversion.

The converted Rebate$ will enjoy a validity period of 12 months and the converted Ice Cream Cake eVouchers will have a validity period of 6 months. Please download the Swensen’s mobile app and log into your new Membership Account early as converted rebates and cake eVocuhers will not be extended after their expiry dates.

What happens to balance Kid’s Meal Stamps from the original Kids’ Club membership scheme?

Balance Kid’s Meal Stamps of original Kids’ Club Members will be ported over to the new Cool Rewards Junior Membership accounts. These converted Kid’s Meal Stamps will enjoy a validity period of 12 months.

Can I continue to enjoy my Membership Benefits during the suspension period 25 June – 8 July 2018?

During 25 June – 8 July 2018 when the Cool Rewards Membership Program is being suspended, collection and redemption of Bonus Points/Rebate$/Kid’s Meal Stamps/rewards will not be available to Members for all in-store and online purchases as the system is not in operation. Members’ birthday month discounts will also not be available for online cake purchases during this period.

As a gesture, Cool Rewards Members will enjoy 10% discount off the bill for dine-in/take away purchases during the said suspension period. This discount is not valid in conjunction with other discounts, promotions and vouchers in the same bill.

However, Cool Rewards Members will still be able to enjoy their daily free drinks/$1 beverage upgrade during the suspension period by producing their printed Cool Rewards Membership Card. Birthday cake discounts and birthday month sundae (with order of a main dish) will be available to Members in store during the suspension period when Members produce their Membership Card and original NRIC.

Kids’ Club Members will still be able to enjoy their complimentary monthly Kid’s Club Sundae (with dine-in purchase) during the suspension period by presenting their Kids’ Club Membership Cards.

Can I continue using my printed membership card?

Original Members can continue using their printed Cool Rewards Membership Cards till 30 September 2018. After this deadline, all printed Cool Rewards and Kids’ Club Membership Cards will be replaced by eMembership Cards on Swensen’s mobile app. After 30 September 2018, presentation of the printed membership cards at the table will no longer entitle Members to free item redemptions such as free daily drinks and free monthly sundae for Junior Members, etc.

What do I need to present to enjoy Members’ benefits from 1 October 2018?

Members will need to redeem their privileges (including free drinks and monthly free kid’s sundaes) and offers with Swensen’s mobile app eVouchers. Members will also need to use their eMembership Cards on Swensen’s mobile app for Rebate$ collection/redemption.

Can I use NRIC instead of eMembership Card?

To better protect Members’ personal data, eMembership cards within the Swensen’s mobile app will be used for identification and not NRIC. However, Members may be required to present their NRIC for birthday month privileges. Redemption of free items and birthday benefits require the use of eVouchers which Members can access upon logging into their Membership Account with the Swensen’s mobile app.

What will happen to new Membership applications sent before the launch of the updated version of the Swensen’s mobile app on 9 July 2018?

New Membership applicants will not be receiving printed membership cards. These applicants will instead be receiving an email with a link to set up a password for logging into their new membership account using the Swensen’s mobile app when the new program is launched. Alternatively, applicants can sign up as a new Cool Rewards Member instantly using the “SIGN UP” function of the Swensen’s mobile app from 9 July 2018 onwards.
